Members'
Dinner Meeting: Thursday, 20 September 2007
Please join us Thursday, September 20 for our
next members' dinner meeting. We're please to
announce that
Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr. (R -2nd TN)
will be our guest speaker. Please
see bio for Congressman
Duncan. Together with Congressman Mike McIntyre
(D - 7th NC), Congressman Duncan sponsored the
March
2005 House Resolution (H.R. 41) designating April
6 of each year as "National Tartan Day".
We will meet at the Army-Navy
Country Club, 2400 S. 8th Street, Arlington,
VA, 22204. From I-395, take Exit
7 onto N. Glebe Road. Continue north on Glebe
Road for about 1/2 mile and make a right turn
onto 18th
Street. 18th Street quickly splits into 18th
Street and 17th Road. Bear to the right, which
will be 18th Street.
Stay on 18th Street until you see gated entrance
to the club. The Clubhouse is straight ahead
and there is ample
parking. The Club's phone number is (703) 521
-6800.
We will begin at 6:30 PM with cocktails followed
by dinner at 7: 15 p.m. Before we enjoy a fabulous
dinner of filet
mignon and Norwegian salmon, new members will
be piped in and introduced into our august body.
Finally,
following an entertaining and informative presentation
by Congressman Duncan, we will have a short business
meeting to discuss the progress of your society.
Please note that both protocol
and tradition require gentlemen to wear jacket
and necktie at evening dinner
meetings. Highland dress (daywear jacket and
kilt) is encouraged but not required. Members
are encouraged to
bring guests to join us for dinner and to hear
the speaker. However, only members may attend
the business meeting.
Because space is limited and
we expect a large turnout to hear our speaker,
you are strongly advised to complete
your reservation and payment no later than September
17. You may also RSVP electronically to Vice
President
Vern McHargue at vern.mchargue@heritage.org or
leave a message at 703-3 13-0671.
